Their dad might get them every other weekend, or whatever the courts have mandated, but that does little for the day-to-day operations and the demands that kids inevitably come with.
Wearing Both Caps - Single mothers have to play the role of mom and dad to their children. If something needs fixing around the house, a single mom must play handyman. If her son needs to learn a manly lesson, a single mom has to try to deliver the message. She's got to kill the bugs in the house and see what that sound was in the middle of the night.
It takes a brave woman to be a successful single mom, and we hear stories all the time of women that are able to pull off amazing jobs and raise amazing young adults.
