HEllo World : 3 Problems Typical of Being a Single Mother

helloworld,
Being a parent can be a challenging experience. Learning how to care for a new child, wondering how best to prepare them for the world, deciding which schools to put them in, providing a comfortable home for them to live in. It can be tough for two parents to handle. But being a single mom comes with its own share of unique burdens. Some of them are obvious, and some of them are a little more obscure. Let's take a look at some of the problems that complicate the lives of single moms.

One Income - The single biggest problem of being a single mother is having just one income earner. Child support payments rarely measure up to having two incomes in one household. Depending on how involved a divorced dad wants to be with his kid, there could be a lot of slack that a single mom has to make up for. When there are two earners in the house, or when there's a stay-at-home mom situation, being a mom is that much easier. When you have to juggle a job or career, and hold down the fort at home and make sure your child or children are getting the care and attention they deserve, it can be overwhelming.
No Teammate - There's no one to fall back on when you're a single mom. If the kids have to be picked up, dinner has to be made, shopping needs to be done, and dishes need to be washed, all at the same time, it's all up to you. When there's two parents it's nice sharing some of the responsibilities that come with kids. Single moms have it rough because anything and everything that arises needs to be handled by them. Their dad might get them every other weekend, or whatever the courts have mandated, but that does little for the day-to-day operations and the demands that kids inevitably come with.
Wearing Both Caps - Single mothers have to play the role of mom and dad to their children. If something needs fixing around the house, a single mom must play handyman. If her son needs to learn a manly lesson, a single mom has to try to deliver the message. She's got to kill the bugs in the house and see what that sound was in the middle of the night.
It takes a brave woman to be a successful single mom, and we hear stories all the time of women that are able to pull off amazing jobs and raise amazing young adults. These aren't impossible circumstances to overcome. If you try your hardest and do the best you can, you'll find a way to overcome your situation and make it out on top..
